I agree with John; I would never agree that online banking is 100% safe. Online banking is convenient, yes, but there is a catch. Even a small infection in your system can send out your account information and you could lose all your savings! I would never recommend online banking for anyone. I for one think tele banking is much safer.

Online banking pitfalls

Even though most banks and ecommerce establishments prefer online means of transaction, I would not go for it any time soon. Recently, I was a victim of online fraud and lost quire a sum of money. My system was infected with some kind of malware and upon sending my bank account information, the credit card details were misused for extensive shopping. The bank even refused to act on the matter as the problem was on my side. Anyone using online means to transfer funds should always take extra care to avoid my predicament.

Most of the time while buying products online, my PC is infected by some nasty Virus that makes it slow and my system starts malfunctioning. Usually, after that,I need to format my system… Damn irritating!!!

Be Aware of E-Commerce Pitfalls

I have had repeated problems with obtaining certification for my devices. Any time my computer's history has been deleted, or cookies have been removed, I am forced to get a new authorization code for that device. When I'm not in a good location to get that code through e-mail or text message, I do not get quick access to my account. Furthermore, the financial institution I use can take forever to get those authorization codes sent out, which kind of negates the speed of the online banking process. I wish there was a way that a machine could be recognized indefinitely without the constant aggravation of resending the code.

It is good that there are different options for obtaining the authorization code, but before my cell phone was set up to receive unlimited text messages, I would get charges for the text announcements coming in from the bank. Additionally, when attempting to block unwanted third party text messages on my phone, I blocked the bank's text messages and have had trouble getting the process restarted with my wireless carrier. The issues have just compounded themselves based on that initial problem authorizing new devices for accessing my accounts online. The best way I’ve found to get an authorization code to restart my access online is actually to choose the voice option, where a recorded voice will call my phone and leave a verbal message with the access code. The verbal code is called in extremely fast, and has always been clear.

E-Commerce Problem: Slow Websites

There was one time when I wanted to purchase a handbag that is in high demand in the world of fashion. I was so excited to purchase this handbag from my favorite designer. The day it came out, I was sure to log onto the website to be able to purchase the handbag as soon as possible. However, I was never able to purchase the handbag, due to an incredibly slow website from the company.

The website was so slow, that I was never able to even get to the payment section for buying the handbag. I can not even accurately recount how frustrating it was to never be able to buy this handbag that I had wanted for months, simply due to a slow website. The problem is that there are so many retailers that do not even realize how their websites function on other sorts of computer systems. I remember contacting the maker of this handbag to complain about their website, and they had no idea it was so slow for some consumers. I think this is a major problem that needs to be fixed in the world of e-commerce. Slow websites have a dramatic impact in turning off customers so much, that customers never want to shop at a certain business again. I know that I will never shop at websites that take forever to load, partly because I do not trust they will accurately record my order. I am very skeptical about businesses with slow websites.
