Social networking and community-based online services offer great fun and benefits, both to individual users and to organizations. Hence, social networks contain a wealth of personal information. People share their personal information like date of birth, e-mail address, home address, pictures, etc. on these websites. Such information may not look important but it can still give a clear picture of everything about a person. Furthermore, such information gives ideas to the hackers that are required to perform further attacks. Any real-life attack can be made stronger through accessing the additional information about the victim that is targeted. Hey, sorry to hear what happened to your computers but computer viruses that usually target computers via social networking websites cannot simply get installed on the system. I believe the infections on your computer must have come through some maliciously coded links or through some files that were downloaded. Using a good web browser such as Mozilla Firefox with advanced security features and utilizing an antivirus program can prevent such problems.

Social Networking Sites: Security Measure Failure
I think one of the most disheartening types of security measure failure on social network is a virus attack. Virus attacks happen in all sorts of ways. One of the most common ways for virus attacks to happen is when a person simply chats with another person on a social network.
I was once chatting with a person on a social network when all of a sudden my computer shut down. I was shocked to see my entire computer shut down and I had no idea how such a thing could happen, until I learned about the various Trojan viruses that enter your system through the chat features on social networks. Apparently, this type of virus has become one of the most popular ones on social networking sites. It is quite easy for people to encounter virus attacks when they chat with robots on other computers that simply seek to invade one's computer and steal all the memory. There is nothing worse than having one's computer completely ransacked by some virus that is all too intrusive.
I have never used my social network since this unfortunate experience happened. I cannot stand it when innocent people are taken advantage of, especially on social network. I have made it my mission to tell others to enhance security settings on the social networking sites that can be really harmful to their well being. It is very important for a person to be smart when they decide to use social networks.

Social Networking Sites: Virus Applications
One thing I cannot stand about social networking sites is the virus applications that are prevalent on such sites. Virus applications are to be found on all of these sites. It is incredibly easy for a person to find all sorts of virus applications that can harm their computer on a social networking site.
I once downloaded an application that I thought was fun to use on a social networking site. I thought the application would allow me to take all sorts of fun quizzes; so I was rather excited to use it. Then, one day, I noticed that my computer would not turn on. After about five attempts, I gave up and took my computer to a company. I was frustrated and annoyed. The computer company told me that my computer was suffering from a virus infection. I could not believe it and was very disappointed. I had never downloaded a virus onto my computer before and this one had completely destroyed my hard drive.
As a result, I had to buy an entirely new computer. It was my worst experience ever and I had to spend hundreds of dollars to get a new computer. Never again do I hope to use a social networking site simply for fun. I think that social networking sites pose more risks than what appears in the beginning. People truly need to be wary of threats due to social networking sites and stay away from such harmful content at all costs, or else they can see their computer being harmed.
I am delighted with the service Support Dock powered by iYogi has given me. The PC is working perfectly now. This Application is surely a one stop solution for day to day PC problems.

Davis is absolutely right here. The malware must have gotten into the system via vulnerabilities in the browser. I always use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and have installed an add-on called web of trust. This one provides me with information about a website before it's loaded and I can avoid maliciously coded sites. I would suggest everyone to do the same.
