When I bought my first laptop I was pretty sure I had bought the right piece suited to all my needs. Within weeks of buying it I realized that I had’nt checked on the most important thing before buyin it!! Battery backup! My lap gives me a max backup of one & a half hours while I need at least 3hrs for my work.. really dunno wot to do???

Hey Sam, since you have replaced the cooling fan once, I do not think the fault is mechanical. May be it has something to do with the software regulating the fan. Are you, by any chance, using the system in a dusty environment? If so, dust can cause such problems. I suggest you install software such as Speedfan to regulate the speed manually.

Software issues!! Lots of em...
My Think pad T60P faces a lot of software issues, at times the display turns off & can't be turned on again, sometimes the WI-FI dosen't work while resuming from standby, sudden freezing of the cursor, regular issues with the USB ports not working, regular issues of system ganging and lots more.. I came across a lot of people who face the same issue while surfing the net.... Will never buy another laptop without researching first

Noisy cooling fan
I got my dad a Toshiba satellite around 7 months back.. it workin fine except that the cooling fan is very noisy.. I replaced the existing one and in a month’s time the same issue arises again n again.. . their customer support wasn’t of much help.. can anyone help me with this??

Laptops!!
Hey Steven you are right sometimes the dust can cause a lot of problems. I have experienced one such problems and I had to call the tech guy. He explained to me what was the problem and asked me to protect the PC from dust!!!
