All the data that is commonly used by Desktop applications is stored on the pagefile. Configuration of pagefile is automatic if you have less than 512MB of RAM, but if it is more than 512MB then you need to do it manually. You need to select ‘Advanced’ tab in ‘Properties’ of ‘My Computer’. Under ‘Performance’ choose the ‘Settings’ button to set the configuration of Pagefile.sys.

It is very important for the increased speed of Desktop start up and refreshing process.
